Worst practical ever...

I thought the Kent Ridge Park practical was boring enough....however it seems like microbiology lab was even worse. The Microbiology lab was supposed to be fun actually...however our bench got some....lousy TA who can't teach. Like what Alvin say, he's an excellent student but a lousy teacher. He knows his stuff....but he don't know how to pass these knowledge to us.

While we checked the name list for our bench, i was horrified by the idea of having...erhem as my partner (Alvin should know what i am talking about). So, to save myself...i grabbed Alvin's shirt....insisting that he be my partner...giving that "YOU ARE MINE" look. hahahah no la...i just don't wanna be erhem's partner. so yes...i successfully clung onto Alvin and had him as my partner.

Here comes our TA, looking QUITE professional and promising...however...once he started to talk, i was lyk ...SHIT!!!!!! he was speaking quite softly and his target audience was apparently the people around him. He din really project his voice...and he seriously only focus on a few of us...He was demonstrating and then ...he insisted the whole bench of 12 students...share 1 bunsen burner at the far end of the bench. we were like "can we light our own bunsen burner?" "no..no...just use the one over there"...LIKE WTH!!!!! 12 people squeezing at the end for the bunsen burner when every pair has 1 bunsen burner!!!!!!! I mean...the bunsen burner is so important for our experiment since we constantly need a sterile environment....>.< Next...he took out just one microscope...and asked us to bring our slides over to this ONE microscope to observe...he didn't even tell us we had more microscopes....we only knew it when the other TA told his student that they don't need to share since there's more in the cabinet. Alvin and I took out ours....so that we can view our slides OURSELVES.

Apparently...we saw nothing for the gram-staining. Ours was the food sample (sample of the chicken rice in the science canteen when coincidentally i had the chicken rice for lunch >.<)Next we did the wet mounting...hahah...due to my brilliant skills...our slide had air bubbles...so all we observed was pretty air bubbles...(at least they were beautiful =P) We also observed some squarish thingys like crystals so we asked the TA. Apparently he told Alvin that it was probably due to some problems with the slide or what...then he went to rinse it....after rinsing, he observed again under microscope...and threw it away =) throughout the process...we din knoe what's happening...juz tt HE THREW OUR SLIDE AWAY probably without telling us.

I think this TA probably could only focus when there are fewer people cause apparently he could answer very well when a small group of us asked him question.

Then the main TA came to test us on some facts we learnt...and she mentioned API strip...we were like API strip? then hahaha we realise our TA forgot to do one demonstration with us...the main TA called our TA over and ask him about the API strip...his reply made Jas and I faint. "What's API strip?" OMG!!!!!!! U ARE THE TA AND U DUNNO WHAT'S API STRIP?!!!!!!!!!!! hahah fantastic....

Jas and I were so poor thing that we had to go around the lab to copy what other TAs wrote for their students. >.< we were like "thieves" la....

Now i'm so stressed over the report...dunno what to write...What did i learn? i dunno...what did i see...I saw nuthing...so what should i write? NO IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so dead....I don't even know if it's an essay or not...>.< I'm so glad i'll have this TA for only ONE PRACTICAL...thank goodness. I know it's very tough for him but it's seriously frustrating when....he's not teaching us properly..

After lab, Quan, fel and i went feli's salon to cut hair...so long never go home together....Miss those days. We ate at around 7+ till like 9 as we chit chat while we eat. =) so sad...quan quan is leaving very soon........i'm so sad
